Helpful Information for Consigning / Selling at Hess Auctioneers, LLC
How to Consign at a Hess Auctioneers, LLC. Auction
We offer several consignment options: Consignment Auctions and Fleet Dispersals/Liquidations. It is our objective to accept quality equipment for our sales. In turn, we market the sale accordingly to attract interested buyers.
We will provide a site to display and sell your item at one of our regular consignment auctions.
Our auctions offer both absolute and reserve options. Absolute items are sold to the highest bidder with no minimum (no reserve price). Reserve items are sold only when the Sellers reserve price is met or exceeded.
For all Titled Equipment, a transferable title (free & clear of all liens and encumbrances) must in our possession at least ten business days prior to the Auction date. You will also need to sign a Power of Attorney Form prior to the sale. This form needs to be signed in front of a Notary and it must be filled out in the same name as the unit is titled. We have a Notary on staff who can assist you with this at no charge. Please call for an appointment.
If your bank or financial institution has the title to your equipment, you must supply us their contact information. We will work with them to find out what arrangements need to be made to procure the title. A guarantee of direct payment of net auction proceeds or payoff may be made in exchange for the title or lien release.
Equipment needs to be delivered no later than ten days preceding the Auction date. This allows potential buyers the opportunity to inspect the equipment prior to the auction and allows us the opportunity to take pictures for our online bidding site.
Condition and appearance are important factors in realizing higher auction prices. Our Staff can assist you in determining what prep work (such as detailing, painting, body work, etc.) would effectively bring more money for your consignment.
Please include any Maintenance Records that pertain to your equipment. This will help interested buyers and could increase the potential sale price for your equipment.
Generally, the proceeds, less commission and costs, are remitted to the Consignor on or before ten banking days following the Auction Date. Individual items sold to online bidders or in excess of $30,000 shall be paid out upon consummation of sale.
