The Hess Auctioneers, LLC. Story

Over the last few years we have all enjoyed going to different auctions observing what works and what doesn't. If you get the correct equipment to your sale and market it properly, all parties involved will have a better chance of leaving "satisfied with the results". We spent a lot of time discussing our ideas and one day we decided, "Hey, with our combined expertise in different areas and our network of friends and industry contacts we can run an efficient auction company."

On June 1st, 2007 Hess Auctioneers, LLC. was born. Our first auction was held on November 14, 2007. We quickly recognized that there was a need for this type of consignment auction in the Mid-Atlantic region. Located in Marietta, Pennsylvania, we offer the perfect location conveniently located close to Harrisburg, Lancaster and York. Our secure five-acre concrete pad allows consignors to bring their equipment to our site well in advance of a scheduled sale. Buyers are able to preview upcoming auction inventory as well.

Over the course of our first year, we conducted several auctions, including a Spring Auction which featured a lot full of trucks, trailers &; equipment along with a tent and large area filled with parts, tools, supplies, and more.

In September 2008, we welcomed our new General Manager, Bill Troop (15 years in Trailer Sales, Advertising and Equipment Finance) and we are proud that Bill is now our fifth partner. Since then, we have expanded to at least five-six consignment auctions per year, including a "Trucks and Toys" event in September, which includes a large variety of ATVs, RVs, golf carts, and more. We have held several On-Site Fleet Dispersals/Liquidations, where we organize, advertise, and sell all units absolute. We have added an office at our auction site, with a notary on staff, and Online Bidding at www.EquipmentFacts.com. We have also built up our Material Handling sales, partnering with local MH equipment dealers.

We are all excited to see where God is leading us in this new journey together. We are very pleased with the success of our past auctions. Whether it be a consignment auction or a fleet liquidation, our concentration remains on collecting quality trucks, trailers, and equipment, and marketing them to a specific audience, working for the best results for both seller and buyer.

Bill Troop
Joining the team in 2008 as General Manager, Bill has helped guide Hess Auctioneers to new heights. Bill's background in trailer sales & equipment finance has complimented the skills of the founding partners. Bill became a partner in 2009.

John M. Hess
John M. Hess has operated a successful Auction Company for over 17 years, averaging over 100 real estate auctions a year. John has an auction house in Manheim, PA and is a founding partner of Hess Auctioneers.

Jim Germak
Jim has owned and operated Jagtrux, a major regional transportation company, for over 25 years. He is an officer on the State Board of the PMTA. Jim is a founding partner of Hess Auctioneers.

Phil Garber
Phil &; Roger Garber have owned and operated GFI Transport and Garber Self Storage in Mount Joy, PA for the last 20 years. Phil brings hands on knowledge of trucks to our team as well as strong leadership. Phil is one of the founding partners of Hess Auctioneers.

Roger Garber
Phil &; Roger Garber have owned and operated GFI Transport and Garber Self Storage in Mount Joy, PA for the last 20 years. Roger brings his unmatched gift for attention to details and the ability to get the job done. Roger is one of the founding partners of Hess Auctioneers.

Angie Hepler
Angie joined the Hess Auctioneers team as Office Manager/Administrative Assistant in June 2011. She has over 17 years experience with Customer Relations in the automotive auction industry.

Mary Allman
Mary, a Virginia Tech graduate, has been involved in the advertising, inventory management, and website maintenance since Hess Auctioneers, LLC. was formed in 2007. She is proud to be part of a great team committed to doing whatever it takes to attract the right buyers for your consigned equipment.

Butch Snyder
Butch Snyder has been in the trucking industry for over 50 years. Now retired, Butch helps Hess Auctioneers in the yard and at the gate on sale days.
